About AVA
AVA is an educational tool that helps you prepare your own VA claim. It was built by a U.S. Air Force veteran who went through the claims process himself.
Why AVA exists
A VA claim is a stack of records, a set of forms, and a story only you can tell. Most veterans have the records. Few have the time to read hundreds of pages and match them to the right forms. Free help from a Veterans Service Organization (VSO) is always an option.
AVA does the reading and the first draft. You do the checking, the signing and the filing. That keeps you in charge of your own claim and keeps your benefits yours.
What we hold to
You are in charge
You choose what to claim, you read every draft, you sign, you file. AVA never acts for you.
Show the work
Every sentence AVA drafts points at a page in your own records. You can open that page and check it.
Plain words
We write for a veteran on a phone, not for a lawyer. If a word is not clear, tap it for the meaning.
One payment, no subscription
$79 one-time fee to use the tool. No monthly fee. Nothing taken from your VA benefits.
What AVA is not
AVA is not a law firm, a VSO or a claims agent, and it does not represent you before VA. It does not promise any outcome. Only VA decides your claim.
If you want a person to represent you, a Veterans Service Organization will do that for free. Find one on VA.gov.
